DENVER – The Colorado Avalanche bolster their offense by signing Victor Olofsson for one year.
Olofsson, 30 years old, played last season with the Vegas Golden Knights, where he scored 15 goals and provided 14 assists in 56 games.
The Swedish player set a record in Golden Knights history by scoring points in 10 consecutive games, from December 4 to January 23.
In his first experience in the Stanley Cup playoffs, Olofsson scored two goals, with his team reaching the second round.
Selected in the seventh round by Buffalo in 2014, Olofsson has accumulated 105 goals and 106 assists in 370 games with the Sabres and the Golden Knights.
Last season, he reached two significant milestones: his 100th appearance on January 17th and his 100th goal the following day.
Olofsson, who is 5-foot-11 and weighs 180 pounds, was named to the 2019-20 season’s All-Rookie Team.
Before his arrival in North America, Olofsson played in the Swedish Hockey League during the 2013-18 seasons.
Furthermore, he represented Sweden at the IIHF World Championship in 2021 and 2024, achieving a bronze medal last year.
