Zay Jones Out of Game Against the Seahawks
Cardinals wide receiver Zay Jones will not participate in Thursday night’s matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. This was confirmed by coach Jonathan Gannon, indicating that Jones has not yet cleared the concussion protocol. The Jones injury occurred during the last offensive play in the 16-15 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. On that play, a pass was deflected from Jones’ hands on a crucial third down and nine yards to go. Gannon revealed that he didn’t find out about Jones’ injury until after his post-game press conference. Jones, who has three receptions for 29 yards this season, was reported as “did not participate” in Monday and Tuesday’s practices. Injury reports were estimations, as both Arizona and Seattle did not practice on Monday and had light practice sessions on Tuesday. Gannon mentioned that several receivers will assume Jones’ role. Arizona’s receiver list includes Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson, Greg Dortch, Xavier Weaver, and Simi Fehoko.I feel very good. I really do. They will come in and play well.
