INGLEWOOD, California – Following the overtime loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams expressed his regret for the fumble near the goal line.
In a crucial play, with the score 26-23 in favor of the 49ers, Williams lost the ball on the three-yard line, which prevented the Rams from taking the lead. 49ers defensive tackle Alfred Collins caused the fumble.
The situation sucks. I feel like I let the team down on the one-yard line, by not securing what matters and scoring the touchdown. I take all the blame, and I know I must improve.

Despite the error, the Rams’ defense managed to stop the 49ers on the next possession. Quarterback Matthew Stafford led the team for Joshua Karty to score a 48-yard field goal and tie the game, forcing overtime.
In overtime, the Rams lost after Williams was stopped on fourth down at San Francisco’s 11-yard line.
Rams head coach Sean McVay took responsibility for the fourth-down decision, calling it “a bad decision”.
