After the 31-28 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs, the atmosphere in the Dallas Cowboys’ locker room was pure celebration. With loud music, the players were dancing and celebrating an important triumph. Quarterback Dak Prescott, like several teammates, was enjoying a turkey leg. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones also joined the celebration, carrying a turkey leg. The Cowboys have achieved three consecutive victories for the first time since 2023. They have surpassed .500 for the first time this season, with a record of 6-5-1, positioning themselves favorably for the playoff fight in December.

We will play against anyone, anywhere. You can see it by what we have done in the last few weeks. The moment is not too big for us.

In a span of five days, the Cowboys defeated the two teams that competed in Super Bowl LIX. They tied the franchise record for the biggest comeback (21 points) against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday and on Thursday they defeated the Chiefs with a comeback in the final quarter. This streak led Jones and Prescott to reflect on the best two-game streak since Prescott has been the starter since 2016. Under the circumstances, I don’t remember two better consecutive games here at home. And these guys played with inspiration.

Honestly, I’m not sure if I’ve had it. Besides where we’ve put ourselves right before these games and the place we’re in of having to get these wins against two elite teams. I mean the two teams that played in the Super Bowl last year. Last year is last year, but you’re talking about two organizations that obviously know how to win, and we just beat them both in two great games.

After a 27-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on November 3, the Cowboys fell to 3-5-1. Three days later, Marshawn Kneeland passed away. Despite the sadness, the Cowboys have persevered. Kneeland’s jersey is still hanging in the Cowboys’ locker room. They carry a flag with the number 94 on the field. In the last three games, the locker room has been jubilant.

For me, this is a tough business, man. And if you don’t celebrate these incredible moments and these great victories, why are we working so hard? Why do we sacrifice what we sacrifice of time with our family and things like that if you’re not going to enjoy it and have fun?

Prescott threw the touchdown pass that gave the lead and the 2-point conversion with 11:15 left to play, achieving his 26th comeback in the final quarter. CeeDee Lamb, after three drops against the Eagles, caught seven passes for 112 yards and a touchdown against the Chiefs. George Pickens’ 13-yard reception on third-and-two in the two-minute warning sealed the game. Patrick Mahomes threw four touchdown passes against the Cowboys’ defense, but they limited Kansas City to only five third-down conversions out of 13 attempts. In addition, they managed three sacks on Mahomes and four consecutive stops in the second and third quarters.

I feel good about where we are compared to where we were.

Prescott is aware that the work is not finished. Next week, the Cowboys will face the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. The Lions have a 7-5 record. When the schedule was released in the spring, this 12-day period promised to define the Cowboys’ season.

I can tell you right now that we’re not going to sit on our laurels because of (the winning streak). We know we have a big one coming next week. And all of this really gives us more confidence knowing that we can play with anyone.
