Tua Tagovailoa criticizes Dolphins’ meeting attendance after loss

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has pointed out the need for internal improvements in the team after a season start with a 1-5 record. After Sunday’s loss against the Los Angeles Chargers, Tagovailoa mentioned the importance of addressing certain “small details” to correct the team’s course.

Internal Issues in Team Meetings

One of the key points that Tagovailoa highlighted was attendance at player-led meetings. The quarterback revealed that some players have been arriving late or missing these meetings, which, according to him, requires immediate attention.

We have players who are late to player-only meetings, and others who don’t show up. There’s a lot to analyze. Do we have to make this mandatory? Do we not have to make it mandatory?

The loss to the Chargers, in which the Dolphins nearly made a comeback, left Tagovailoa visibly affected. The quarterback took responsibility for his three interceptions and turned his attention to the next game against the Cleveland Browns. Coach Mike McDaniel, for his part, commented that the player-led meetings are “outside of what I demand” and that he has seen the players take on responsibilities within what they have been asked. The coach also mentioned that the team is working to solve the problems in the last minutes of the games, something that has already happened on four occasions this season. The Dolphins’ situation is aggravated by the fact that tardiness and absences were a recurring problem in the organization last year. Internal sources revealed that players like Jalen Ramsey and Tyreek Hill were frequent offenders. Ramsey was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, while Hill is on the injured reserve list.
