T.J. Watt surpasses J.J. Watt on the NFL sacks list
In a historic moment for the Watt family and the Pittsburgh Steelers, T.J. Watt has surpassed his older brother, J.J. Watt, in career sacks in the NFL.
This achievement was realized on Sunday, when T.J. Watt, 31 years old, got his sack number 115, surpassing his brother J.J.’s 114.5.
The play, which took place in the end zone, not only marked a personal milestone for T.J., but also resulted in the second touchdown of the game for the Steelers. Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams lost the ball after the sack, and Nick Herbig recovered it to score.
The fact that T.J. outperformed J.J. in this game is even more significant, as his older brother was present in the broadcast booth at Soldier Field for CBS.
The Watt brothers are the only pair of brothers who have managed to record 100 or more sacks in their careers since 1982, the year this statistic was made official.
With this sack, T.J. Watt has seven sacks and three forced fumbles this season.
