Amon-Ra St. Brown Recovers for Lions Training Camp

The Detroit Lions’ All-Pro wide receiver, Amon-Ra St. Brown, is in the process of recovering from offseason knee surgery. Although he has not participated in offseason practices, he is expected to be fully recovered by the start of training camp in late July.

I had surgery on my knee after the season to clean some things up, so I’ve been rehabbing, but I should be ready for training camp.

St. Brown, 25, is preparing for his fifth season as one of the league’s most prominent receivers. In 2024, he led the Lions in receiving yards (1,263), receptions (115), and receiving touchdowns (12), playing in all 17 games.

Selected in the fourth round of the 2021 draft, St. Brown has been selected for the Pro Bowl three times and has recorded the third-most games with over 100 receiving yards in team history, with a total of 19.

After a 15-win season in 2024, St. Brown claims the mentality in Detroit is “Super Bowl or bust.”

Right now, we want to win the Super Bowl; that’s it. Obviously, we have to make the playoffs to win the Super Bowl, but everyone understands that, so we want to win the Super Bowl. Plain and simple.

After obtaining consecutive NFC North titles, the Lions will face one of the league’s most challenging schedules this year.

Lions coach Dan Campbell and St. Brown express their enthusiasm for the challenge and look forward to training camp next month. Campbell also provided an update on the estimated return time for linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez, who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee in last season’s Thanksgiving Day game.

Conservatively? November. … Yes, that’s probably the best way to put it. Probably November. Around there.

Rodriguez, 26, recorded 43 tackles and 2.0 sacks in 10 games (six starts) before suffering the season-ending injury.
