BEREA, Ohio – Shedeur Sanders, the young quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, has expressed his focus on the learning process, setting aside the limited practice opportunities he has had at training camp. Sanders, who arrived at the Browns in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft, after being considered one of the most promising quarterbacks, is currently in fourth position in the team’s quarterback hierarchy, behind veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett, as well as rookie Dillon Gabriel. So far, Sanders has not had the opportunity to participate with the first team in the offseason practices or in the first training sessions of the camp.
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski has mentioned that the quarterback rotation will be fluid during the first week of camp, before reevaluating the order for the second week. In training, Pickett has led the drills with the first team, while Flacco has also had opportunities. The quarterbacks coach, Bill Musgrave, anticipates a similar dynamic in the second week of the camp, highlighting the progress of the four quarterbacks and the coaching staff’s work to provide them with opportunities. Due to the need to distribute repetitions among the four quarterbacks, Sanders has thrown passes to equipment staff members during individual drills. However, the quarterback assures that this does not affect him.I don’t think it’s my place to answer that. I feel like it’s not under my control, so I’m not going to think about it or question why. There are a lot of people who want to be at this level, and I’m here and I appreciate the opportunity. So, when the time comes, it will come.

Sanders also commented on the two speeding tickets he received in Cleveland, expressing his wish that everyone learn from his situation and avoid speeding.I’m not worried. We came from an HBCU to a Power Five and now we’re here. At this point, there’s nothing that’s a challenge.
