Aaron Rodgers Leaves Game with Hand Injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, did not return to Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, which ended in a 34-12 victory, due to an injury to his left hand, the one he doesn’t use for throwing.

Rodgers suffered the injury when he fell on his hand while being sacked after throwing the ball on second down and goal, with a few seconds left before halftime. Although he played one more play after a timeout, blood was seen on his hand when he reached the sideline during Chris Boswell’s field goal attempt.

Although Rodgers was initially considered doubtful to return, he did not return to the field after halftime.

In the second half, substitute Mason Rudolph took the reins and led the offense to two scoring drives. Rudolph completed 12 of 16 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown, a five-yard pass to Kenneth Gainwell in the final quarter.

The Steelers’ injury woes continued at the start of the third quarter when running back Jaylen Warren injured his ankle during a tackle. Warren limped off with the medical staff and entered the injury tent.

Warren, who had accumulated 62 yards on 10 carries and two receptions for five yards, returned to the sideline with his helmet on after a brief stay in the medical tent. He was declared questionable, but returned on second and three from the 12-yard line with six minutes remaining in the third quarter. However, the Steelers called a timeout and Warren did not re-enter when the offense returned to the field.
