Aaron Rodgers doubtful for Sunday’s game

Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers is officially questionable for Sunday’s game against Chicago, according to coach Mike Tomlin on Friday. Rodgers, who suffered a small fracture in his left wrist during the match against the Bengals, has been using a black stabilizer on his wrist during this week’s training and participated in a limited way on both Thursday and Friday. In the event that Rodgers is unable to play, Mason Rudolph, selected in the third round of the 2018 draft by the Steelers, would be the starter. Rudolph hasn’t started since the Week 17 loss last year, when he played for the Titans. In that season, Rudolph started five games, with a 1-4 record. However, in his last stint with the Steelers, he started the last three games of the regular season, contributing to the final streak that led the team to qualify for the playoffs with three victories. Rudolph replaced Rodgers and played the second half of the Steelers’ victory against Cincinnati, completing 12 of 16 attempts for 127 yards and a touchdown.

I have a lot of experience in different roles.

Rodgers mentioned on Wednesday that the key to his participation on Sunday is “security” and not pain management.

I have to get the okay and feel like I can protect myself.

Offensive coordinator Arthur Smith stated on Thursday that he has “contingency plans” as the starting quarterback situation is still uncertain.

You always have to have contingency plans, and we’ll see how the week develops so that my job is to be ready in any way.

Rodgers has a 24-5 regular season record against the Bears, but he insisted that his history with the rival franchise doesn’t give him extra motivation to play in this game.

There are incentives for every opponent, but I have enjoyed many Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays in that city. It’s a great sports city, with phenomenal fans and a great place to play.
