Aaron Rodgers will not play this Sunday with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who will have Mason Rudolph as their starting quarterback against the Chicago Bears. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin confirmed in a pre-game interview that Rodgers “fought with all his might” to play against Chicago, adding that the decision to sit the veteran quarterback was “prudent”.

He fought with all his might all week. That’s the prudent play for us as a collective. We’ll let Mason start; he’s absorbed the majority of the reps this week.

Rodgers was listed as questionable due to a fracture in his left wrist. The four-time MVP partially participated in Thursday and Friday’s practices after missing Wednesday’s practice. Rodgers arrived at Soldier Field just before 9 a.m. on Sunday morning and walked around the field, wearing a brace on his wrist. Rudolph will be backed up by sixth-round pick Will Howard, who was activated from injured reserve a week ago. The last time Rudolph started was for the Tennessee Titans in Week 17 of last year, where he had a 1-4 record as a starter. Rudolph also started four games for the Steelers in 2023, including three consecutive wins to close out the season and secure a playoff spot.
