Aaron Rodgers Anticipates Retirement in 2025

The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, has expressed his conviction that the 2025 season will be the last of his NFL career.

“Yes, I’m pretty sure this is it,” Rodgers stated during an interview on “The Pat McAfee Show.” “That’s why we did a one-year deal.”

Aaron Rodgers
Rodgers, who has been recognized as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the NFL on four occasions, signed a one-year contract with the Steelers earlier this month, worth $13.65 million. This agreement includes $10 million guaranteed and could rise to $19.5 million with incentives, according to sources close to the matter. The agreement with Pittsburgh sets up an exciting Week 1 matchup, where Rodgers will face his former team, the New York Jets, who will host the season opener. Rodgers, 41, was released by the Jets in March, a month after what he described as a tense meeting with new coach Aaron Glenn and new general manager Darren Mougey. Before joining the Jets, Rodgers played for 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers. This season, he will face Green Bay for the first time in Week 8, on “Sunday Night Football”. Rodgers leads the Packers franchise in touchdown passes (475), completion percentage (65.3), and passer rating (103.6). In addition, he ranks second, behind only Brett Favre, in passing yards (59,055) and completions (5,001). The 2025 season will mark Rodgers’ twenty-first year in the NFL.
