Raiders Trade Jakorian Bennett for Thomas Booker IV

The Las Vegas Raiders have finalized a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, sending cornerback Jakorian Bennett in exchange for defensive tackle Thomas Booker IV. The news, which shakes the sports world, was confirmed by sources close to the team. Booker, selected in the fifth round of the 2022 draft by the Houston Texans, arrives to strengthen the Raiders’ defensive line. His incorporation comes after the release of Christian Wilkins, who is recovering from an injury. In the past season, Booker participated in 17 games with the Eagles, achieving 18 tackles and a sack. The 25-year-old player seeks to establish himself in his new team, where he will compete for a position on the defensive line. In Las Vegas, Booker joins an open competition as a defensive tackle. During the camp, the team has rotated several players, allowing them to seek a role on the interior. Bennett, drafted in the fourth round of the 2023 draft, leaves Las Vegas after playing 24 games in his career with the Raiders. The young cornerback had an outstanding second season in the NFL, despite undergoing surgery for a labrum injury. Playing primarily as an outside cornerback, Bennett accumulated 26 tackles and eight pass deflections. In addition, he allowed 23 receptions for 294 yards, two touchdowns, and a passer rating of 86.7 on 45 targets. In June, Bennett declared he felt physically better since college. Despite his recovery, his position in the team was affected. From the OTAs, Bennett has primarily played with the second and third teams, while other players have received the majority of the reps with the first team.

I always feel like the underdog. I always have to get out of the mud. And that’s something I don’t shy away from. That’s just how I am. I like to persevere.
