Dak Prescott Reacts to Micah Parsons Trade: “A Solution”

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has expressed his perspective on the recent trade of Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, calling it a “solution” to a situation that could have generated distractions.

“I’m not going to say we’re better. We have to go out there and prove it. We had to prove it even if he was on this team, so I’m not going to say that in any way,” Prescott commented.

Prescott admitted that, although he wasn’t surprised by the move, he was glad the matter was coming to an end. The uncertainty about Parsons’ future had been a recurring theme, especially in view of the upcoming opening game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The exchange, which involved defensive tackle Kenny Clark and first-round picks in 2026 and 2027, seems to have been well received by Prescott. He highlighted the importance of Clark’s arrival, a proven leader who will strengthen the team. Prescott emphasized that the team’s focus is now on the game against the Eagles and that the locker room is not concerned about the trade. He also noted that Parsons received good compensation and that the team will see him again in a month. The Cowboys vs. Packers matchup is scheduled for September 28th at AT&T Stadium, marking Parsons’ return. Prescott revealed that he exchanged messages with Parsons after the transfer and that the current situation is preferable to the distraction that the uncertainty could have generated. Osa Odighizuwa, defensive tackle and close to Parsons, was named captain for the first time. Although he did not expect the trade, he emphasized the need to focus on the game. Coach Brian Schottenheimer addressed the issue with the team, but Prescott did not feel the need to intervene further. Prescott added that the situation served as a reminder of the business nature of professional football and hopes it has been a wake-up call for some players.
