The potential matchup between Micah Parsons and Dak Prescott generates a bittersweet atmosphere. The prominent defensive player, Micah Parsons, downplayed the impact of his return to Dallas, sharing his feelings about the possibility of facing his friend and former teammate in an interview with The Associated Press on Tuesday. Parsons and the Green Bay Packers will face Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys in a nationally televised game on Sunday night.

It’s going to hurt. That’s my guy. He was always a good mentor to me. But you know how he is. He always told me that if I ever faced him, it would be a great matchup, so I’m excited to see what he brings on Sunday.

Parsons plans to approach the match as just another one, although it will be his first time playing at AT&T Stadium as a visitor. Parsons’ transfer to the Packers occurred a week before the start of the NFL season, ending a prolonged contractual dispute. The Packers, with the addition of Parsons, have increased their Super Bowl aspirations. In addition, they made the 26-year-old player the highest-paid non-quarterback player in NFL history, signing a four-year, $188 million contract, which includes $136 million guaranteed. The Cowboys (1-2) have struggled without Parsons, especially on defense, allowing the third-most yards (397.7 per game), the most passing yards (288), and the sixth-most points (30.7).

Despite missing all of the preseason and arriving in Green Bay a week before the first game, Parsons had an immediate impact on the defense, in the 27-13 victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 1. The Packers defeated the Washington Commanders 27-18 four days later. However, the offense failed to get going in the 13-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 3.

Besides the fans, only the teammates and support staff, made this transition great and I feel extremely honored and blessed to be with such a great group of guys who want to win and who just want to play football, and I think we’ve been playing very good football so far, so that helps and I just hope we continue like this.
