Packers Could Lose Another Key Piece on Offense
The Green Bay Packers could face the loss of another important player on their offense. Tight end Tucker Kraft suffered a knee injury during Thursday’s practice, just four days before the game against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
Kraft was listed on the injury report after Thursday’s practice. A source indicated that he was undergoing tests to determine the severity of the injury, although there is optimism within the team that it is not a long-term injury.
This situation adds to the loss of receiver Jayden Reed, who suffered a fractured collarbone in last week’s game against the Washington Commanders. Reed, who also underwent foot surgery, could be placed on the injured reserve list, but could return at the end of the season.
Additionally, the team has been without receiver Christian Watson, who is on the physically unable to perform list while recovering from an ACL surgery performed in January. This could mean that quarterback Jordan Love could be without three of his primary targets.
In the first two games, Kraft leads the Packers with eight receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns. He is coming off his first 100-yard game in last Thursday’s victory against the Commanders.
If Kraft can’t play on Sunday against the Browns, it would be the first time he’s missed a game since entering the NFL as a third-round pick in 2023. The Packers will face the Cowboys in Week 4 and then have their bye week.
