Havrisik Could Get Another Chance with the Packers

Kicker Lucas Havrisik, who hasn’t kicked since his perfect games in weeks 5 and 6, could get another opportunity on Sunday when the Green Bay Packers face the New York Giants. The Packers added kicker Brandon McManus to the injury report on Saturday due to his recurring right quadriceps injury and listed him as questionable for Sunday’s game. The Packers kept Havrisik on the roster even after McManus returned from his injury. Havrisik, who was signed on October 11, made all 10 kick attempts. That included a franchise-record 61-yard field goal in Arizona, while replacing McManus, who originally injured his quadriceps in practice on October 8. Havrisik has not been active on game day since McManus returned after missing two games. Since his return, McManus has made 4 of 8 field goals, including a missed 64-yard attempt that would have sent Monday night’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles to overtime.

I feel almost like new.

Brandon McManus
McManus said earlier this week that he felt “almost like new”. “Almost without pain, I felt nothing in my leg,” he said on Thursday. The Packers typically practice with their kickers on Wednesdays and Fridays during a normal practice week.

Right now we are working on recovering from an injury, something he hasn’t had in a long, long time. He’s hitting the ball well and we’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Rich Bisaccia, Packers special teams coordinator
The Packers also announced that receiver Malik Heath would not travel with the team and is out for Sunday’s game, calling it a “coach’s decision” without offering additional information.
