NFL Celebrates the 250th Anniversary of the United States

The National Football League (NFL) is preparing to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States with a series of special initiatives that will run from January through the 2026 season. The league announced on Wednesday that it will collaborate with the White House’s “Salute to America 250” working group to carry out these celebrations.

The NFL is proud to participate in the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States. The history of the NFL reflects the history of America, and the American spirit of resilience, innovation, and teamwork has helped football become a cultural pastime that unites us all. We are excited to honor the history of our country and celebrate our collective future.

Among the planned actions, soccer balls with the “America 250” brand will be included. The teams have already received these special balls, which will be used starting from the Week 18 matches, to be played from January 3rd to 4th. These footballs will be used during Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California, and will extend through next season. In addition, the league fields will feature special markings in the scoring zones, the referees will use commemorative coins, and the teams’ stores will offer products for fans with the “America 250” theme. The league announced in 2021 that it was working with the United States Semiquincentennial Commission to commemorate this important anniversary.
