Myles Garrett, Browns Player, Cited for Speeding
Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was cited for speeding on a suburban Cleveland highway early Saturday morning, according to court documents. Garrett was clocked driving at 100 mph in an area where the speed limit is 60 mph.
A team spokesperson confirmed that the Browns are aware of the incident.
According to records, Garrett was arrested at 2:01 a.m. in Strongsville, Ohio. He was fined $250 and does not need to appear in court on Thursday morning if he pays the fine.
The Browns played their first preseason game against the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Friday night; Garrett was one of several veterans who did not participate in the game.
Garrett participated in the training camp practice on Monday morning. The Browns are holding joint practices with the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday and Thursday.
This incident occurs three years after Garrett was cited for “failure to control his vehicle” following a single-car accident that caused him a sprained left shoulder and a strained right bicep, after his vehicle ran off the road and overturned. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Garrett was driving at a “speed unsafe for the type of road” he was on, which contributed to the accident.
In 2022, at least seven cases of speeding by Garrett were reported in northeast Ohio.
