Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel expressed that he is not worried about his position, despite the recent 31-6 loss to the Cleveland Browns, which left his team with a 1-6 record. McDaniel, visibly disappointed, emphasized that focusing on the security of his job would be detrimental to the organization. He stated that his priority is to fulfill his responsibilities and give his all for the Dolphins. Furthermore, he believes that thinking about his personal future would be a disservice to the players, coaches, and the organization.
The coach acknowledged that the players’ frustration became evident during the game against the Browns, which contributed to the defeat. The Dolphins committed 11 penalties for 103 yards, record figures since McDaniel was hired in 2022. They also suffered four turnovers, including three interceptions by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and a fumble by returner Dee Eskridge. McDaniel indicated that they will evaluate all aspects of the game and could make changes to the staff for the next Week 8 game against Atlanta. The coach hinted that some players could be replaced if they do not improve their performance. The way I view this job is that I find it very offensive to all parties involved if I’m thinking about having the job; I need to be doing my job.
