Lane Johnson Confirms His Return for a 14th Season with the Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles’ right tackle, Lane Johnson, has confirmed that he will be back for his 14th season in the NFL. Johnson, 35, missed the last seven regular season games and the Eagles’ playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers due to a Lisfranc injury. There was uncertainty about whether he would play again in an Eagles uniform, although the general opinion within the team was that he would not want to end his Hall of Fame-worthy career that way. Johnson also posted a photo on social media running through the tunnel, symbolizing his return for the upcoming season.

When he was healthy in 2025, Johnson continued to play at an All-Pro level. The Eagles had an 8-2 record with Johnson on the field, compared to 3-5 without him, a trend that has held over time. Since he was selected by the team with the fourth overall pick in 2013, the team’s record is 94-41-1 when he plays and 15-28 when he doesn’t. Your presence will be necessary during a transition period on the offensive side of the ball. Philadelphia and longtime offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland parted ways this offseason, with former Minnesota Vikings assistant Chris Kuper taking his place. The Eagles also fired offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo and replaced him with 33-year-old Sean Mannion, former quarterbacks coach for the Green Bay Packers, who is expected to implement a scheme more in the design of Kyle Shanahan/Sean McVay, a deviation from what the Eagles have run under coach Nick Sirianni during his five years here.

“Obviously, we’re talking about a Hall of Fame player who has been a big, big part of any success we’ve had, and when you see him play, he’s still playing at an elite level,” said General Manager Howie Roseman in January.
