CeeDee Lamb Exits Game with Ankle Injury

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb left Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears due to a left ankle injury.

Lamb suffered the injury at 8:34 of the first quarter while running with the ball. Linebacker Noah Sewell fell on the back of Lamb’s legs, causing his ankle to twist.

After the injury, Lamb missed the following 14 plays in two series. He returned for the first play of the second quarter, but seemed to have difficulty moving.

At the end of the series, Lamb was on the bench. He remained on the sidelines in uniform, but without a helmet.

Without Lamb, who had performances of over 100 receiving yards in the first two games, the Cowboys featured Jalen Tolbert and KaVontae Turpin alongside George Pickens.

Pickens got his second touchdown reception in two games, with a one-handed catch from a Dak Prescott pass. The subsequent 2-point play tied the score at 7:57 of the first half.

Lamb has only missed three games in his NFL career, including the last two of last season due to a shoulder injury.

Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs also suffered a shoulder injury on the Bears’ only possession in the third quarter, a 19-play, 76-yard drive that ended with a touchdown pass from Caleb Williams. Diggs was injured while tackling D’Andre Swift.

Diggs was replaced by Trikweze Bridges, but returned in the last quarter. He had entered the game in doubt due to a right knee injury, but was cleared after a pre-game workout.
