Kyren Williams Secures His Future with the Rams: Million-Dollar Extension

Los Angeles Rams star running back Kyren Williams has signed a three-year, $33 million contract extension, including $23 million guaranteed. The news was confirmed by his agents. Two weeks ago, at the start of the Rams’ training camp, Williams, 24, expressed his desire to secure his future with the team. I want to play for the Rams. That’s who I want to be with. I know this will work.

The next day, Drew Rosenhaus, Williams’ agent, visited the Rams’ training camp at Loyola Marymount University. Williams, selected in the fifth round of the 2022 draft, has established himself as the Rams’ primary running back since the start of the 2023 season. According to data, Williams accounted for 43% of the Rams’ total possessions last season, the highest rate in the NFL. In the last two seasons, Williams has achieved 31 touchdowns from the line of scrimmage, tied with Jahmyr Gibbs of the Detroit Lions. In addition, his 2,443 rushing yards in the same period position him as the third-highest rusher, behind only Derrick Henry and Saquon Barkley. With this $33 million extension, Williams secures the seventh-highest average annual salary in his position.
