GLENDALE, Ariz. – Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray revealed on Monday that his right knee is “as close as it’s going to get” to fully recovering after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) suffered in December 2022. Murray indicated that the effects of the injury persisted throughout last season, his first full one after returning in mid-2023.
However, Murray was aware that his recovery would go beyond his return to the field. After talking with other players who suffered ACL injuries, Murray understood that the second year after the return is usually the time when “you finally feel like yourself”. “It’s something you have to stay on top of,” Murray declared. The reconstructed knee did not affect his ability to run last season. Murray ran for 572 yards, the second most of his career, and scored five touchdowns. Looking ahead to his seventh season, Murray “definitely” believes his legs can be a weapon again in 2025. Murray seeks his second winning season as a starting quarterback and his second playoff appearance since he was the first overall pick in 2019. On Monday, he expressed that he likes the depth that the Arizona team built this offseason on both sides of the ball.“Now I feel like I’m back to where I was before,” Murray stated. “Obviously, my knee will probably never be the same in that respect.”

“In the entirety of this team, I feel that this unit is definitely one of the best I’ve been a part of, without a doubt,” Murray concluded.
