Kris Boyd, Jets Player, Returns to Hospital
New York Jets player Kris Boyd has been readmitted to the hospital after being discharged to continue treatment for his gunshot wound. The search for the person responsible for the shooting continues. Boyd, who was hospitalized on November 16 after being shot in the abdomen during a dispute outside a Manhattan restaurant, reported via social media on Wednesday night that “he had to return to the hospital due to health problems”.A Jets spokesperson did not offer further details. The reason for Boyd, 29, being readmitted has not been specified. The bullet that hit his abdomen lodged in the pulmonary artery after passing through a lung. The player underwent multiple medical procedures, and on November 19 reported that “he was starting to breathe on his own.” In his latest update, Boyd expressed: “Please be patient, I haven’t been communicating much. I was discharged, but I had to return to the hospital due to health issues. I deeply love and appreciate everyone who has prayed/reached out, even if I can’t respond to them. HEADS UP, God isn’t finished with me yet!”. The New York City Police Department identified a possible shooter last week, but no arrests have been made yet and the investigation is still ongoing. Boyd, who was placed on injured reserve at the end of the season during training camp, was accompanied by teammates Jamien Sherwood and Irvin Charles, as well as another friend, at the time of the shooting, according to police. They left a trendy Midtown restaurant shortly after 2 a.m. Police indicated that the shooting was apparently the result of an exchange of words between Boyd and another group. Boyd was transferred to Bellevue Hospital, where he was initially reported in critical but stable condition. The last we heard is that he had a problem and had to return to the hospital. But apart from that, I need to find out what happened.
