New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has expressed his desire to remain with the team despite rumors of potential trades that have circulated during his career.

Kamara: “I want to stay in New Orleans”

Kamara, who has been the subject of speculation about his future, has reiterated his commitment to the Saints. The player responded to a report that mentioned an approach by the general manager, Mickey Loomis, to find out his preferences in the event of a possible transfer.

I don’t know where that came from. We’ve talked about the report and we looked at each other like the Spider-Man meme: “Did you say something? Did I say something?” I don’t know where it came from, but I think I’ve been explicit enough… I don’t want to go anywhere.

The runner emphasized that his intention is clear and that he has expressed his desire to remain in New Orleans on multiple occasions. He acknowledges that football is a business, but assures that he does not participate in the decisions made in the team’s offices. Kamara, who signed a contract extension that will keep him with the Saints until the 2026 season, with a portion of his salary guaranteed, turned 30 in July. The player has been dealing with an ankle injury, but has returned to training as part of a maintenance program. So far this season, he has participated in all six games, with 83 carries for 314 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Chris Olave, also mentioned in possible trade rumors, acknowledged the speculation and attributed it to the team’s situation, which has a 1-5 record.

It’s part of the business, man. It’s been like that all year, in the offseason. Even now, I haven’t been on social media much, but I know it’s being talked about now that we’re 1-5. There are always rumors, the Internet always tries to create hype. But I had a conversation with the people in the building, so I have a lot of confidence.

Olave, who was limited in Wednesday’s practice due to a hip injury, has recorded 39 receptions for 342 yards and a touchdown this season.
