INDIANAPOLIS – Colts quarterback Daniel Jones is dealing with a fibula injury, but insists he will be ready for Sunday’s crucial AFC South matchup against the Houston Texans. This comes amid a report indicating that Jones is dealing with a fracture, but plans to play despite it. The Colts neither confirmed nor denied the report, but a team source indicated that Jones will be listed as a full participant on Thursday’s injury report, after having been listed as “limited” on Wednesday.

The injury, which the Colts first reported last week, was the result of “something that was pending, and I noticed it last week. I’ve just been trying to get treatment and make sure I’m in the best possible shape,” Jones stated on Wednesday.

Jones couldn’t pinpoint when the injury occurred. He alerted the training staff about the problem a few days after the Colts returned from their bye week, during which they didn’t practice.

“It’s hard to say exactly when” it happened, Jones said.

Added: “I’m fine. I’ll be ready to play on Sunday. Obviously, I was on the field last week. I’m in shape to play.” Jones played in last Sunday’s game in Kansas City, where the Colts lost a 20-9 lead and ended up losing 23-20 in overtime. Jones completed only 3 of 8 pass attempts for 17 yards in the fourth quarter, while the Colts had three and out on three consecutive possessions. The Colts, with Jones as quarterback after his signing in the offseason, have had one of the best offenses in the NFL this season. They lead the NFL in scoring with 31 points per game and remain number one in yards per play (6.3).
