Jets Make Quarterback Change: Tyrod Taylor to Take the Reins
The New York Jets have decided to make a change at the quarterback position, opting for Tyrod Taylor instead of Justin Fields, according to sources close to the team.
The announcement comes at a crucial moment for the Jets (2-8), who will face the Baltimore Ravens (5-5) this week.
Jets coach Aaron Glenn said Friday he was “evaluating everything” after his team’s 27-14 loss to the New England Patriots.
Fields accumulated 116 passing yards against the Patriots, with only 23 in the first half. In his last five starts, he has only totaled 505 yards.
The Jets average 139.9 passing yards per game, the lowest figure in the league, which could be the lowest mark since the 2022 Chicago Bears (130.5). Fields was the Bears’ quarterback that year.
