New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd has been stabilized after being shot on Sunday morning in Manhattan. Authorities continue to search for the person responsible for the shooting, according to police sources.
Boyd, 29, is hospitalized and has undergone multiple surgeries to remove the bullet from his right lung.
The Jets coach, Aaron Glenn, spoke about the incident, expressing optimism about Boyd’s recovery.

The police have released surveillance images of the suspect, but no arrests have been made yet.The shooting took place near a restaurant in the city center, frequented by celebrities. Boyd, who was on the reserve list due to a shoulder injury, was accompanied by his teammates Jamien Sherwood and Irvin Charles.
According to police sources, Boyd and his friends were involved in a fight with a group, including the shooting suspect. The altercation culminated in the shooting. Boyd was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was initially reported in critical but stable condition.
Glenn mentioned having spoken with Boyd shortly after the incident. The Jets, who played the previous Thursday, were enjoying a break over the weekend.
Glenn shared that Boyd was in good spirits, which reassured him. He also mentioned that Boyd’s wife and son are doing well.
The coach refrained from speculating on the impact of the incident on Boyd’s career and noted that they did not discuss football-related topics during their conversation.
Glenn highlighted Boyd’s importance as one of the best special teams players in the league. Before the season, Boyd signed a one-year contract for 1.6 million dollars.
