The New York Jets continue to reinforce their squad for the 2025 season, focusing on areas that need improvement. Recently, the team reached an agreement with safety Andre Cisco for a one-year contract.

The agreement has a base value of $2.5 million, with the possibility of reaching $5.25 million through incentives.

Cisco, who started in the first game of last season, was only able to participate in eight games due to a pectoral injury that ended his season.

To strengthen the position, the Jets have also made strategic moves, including the acquisition of safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and the signing of former New York Giants safety, Dane Belton.

Former player Tony Adams signed with the Tennessee Titans.

After four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cisco signed a one-year, $8.5 million contract with the Jets last year, who were looking for a standout player at the safety position. However, his performance did not meet expectations, and he only managed one pass breakup, with no interceptions. The Jets became the first team in history to go an entire season without interceptions.

Cisco’s return to his hometown, as he grew up in the New York City area and was a Jets fan since childhood, did not go as expected, and only lasted eight games. In the eighth game, he suffered a pectoral muscle tear, which required surgery to end the season. Cisco has stated that he has fully recovered and is ready for the preseason program.

Although he has had two years with underperforming results, Cisco showed potential in his first seasons with the Jaguars, who selected him in the third round in 2021. When he lines up as a high safety, he is one of six players in the league with at least eight interceptions and a defensive touchdown.

Throughout his career, Cisco, 25 years old, has participated in 71 games, starting in 55 of them.
