Jalen Hurts Responds to Criticism Amid Frustration in the Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has addressed recent reports about frustration within the organization. Hurts stated that he is not surprised by the reports, attributing them to the nature of his position.

“It doesn’t surprise me at all. This is the nature of the position. I put my energy and my focus into trying to go out there and give my best, trying to learn, trying to build, trying to take the things I can to try and get better.”

According to reports, some players have expressed frustration with Hurts’ approach this season, especially his reluctance to throw the ball in close zone coverage situations. The Eagles’ offense has underperformed, ranking 25th in total yards (300.1 per game), 28th in passing (184.9), and 29th in third-down conversion (33.87%). Despite these offensive challenges, the Eagles excel in the red zone, with the best conversion rate (75%) and the fewest turnovers in the league. Hurts has acknowledged the attention he receives, both when things are going well and when they are not, and emphasized his responsibility and commitment to improvement. Coach Nick Sirianni, for his part, has downplayed the concerns, stating that he doesn’t necessarily believe everything that is written.
