Player Travis Hunter could have a more prominent role in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ offense, starting this Sunday at Wembley Stadium in London. Jaguars coach Liam Coen announced that the team will prioritize designing and executing plays where Hunter is the first option, with the goal of leveraging his speed and athleticism.
Coen added that the offensive coaching staff is focusing on putting Hunter in the progressions and giving him the opportunity to be the first option more often. In Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Hunter had four receptions for 15 yards, including a 14-yard gain after the reception. This was his lowest yardage of the season. The need to give Hunter more prominence in the passing game is related to the difficulties of receiver Brian Thomas Jr., who is the Jaguars’ leading receiver with 24 receptions for 334 yards. It’s part of the strategy, number one, to outline it so that it’s open.
