Concern in Miami: Chop Robinson Suffers Injury in Joint Practice
Miami Dolphins linebacker Chop Robinson has been taken off the field due to an injury during Wednesday’s joint practice with the Detroit Lions. The news has generated concern among fans and the team. Robinson’s injury occurred during team practice, and the player remained on the ground for a considerable time before being taken off on a stretcher. Robinson forced a fumble from Lions running back David Montgomery, who recovered the ball. However, the Miami star was injured during the play. Selected in the first round of last year’s draft, Robinson recorded six sacks in his rookie season. Several of his teammates anticipated an outstanding 2025 season for the player, following a solid training camp this summer.Miami’s outside linebacker position has been the subject of criticism over the last two seasons. Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips suffered season-ending injuries in 2023, which kept Chubb out for the entire 2024 season. Phillips returned in 2024 but suffered a torn ACL in Week 4. This summer marked the first time Miami’s pass rush trio participated in practices together. So far, the severity of Robinson’s injury has not been disclosed. The situation arises a few days after running back Alexander Mattison was placed on the injured reserve list with a neck injury. The Dolphins have also lost starting cornerback Kader Kohou for the season due to a torn ACL, as well as veteran cornerback Artie Burns, also with the same injury. Wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle returned to practice on Wednesday after missing the first preseason game against the Chicago Bears. Hill did not practice last week due to what coach Mike McDaniel described as an oblique injury. McDaniel suggested that Waddle’s injury was minor, but he suffered it after receiving a hard hit during last Friday’s joint practice with the Bears.Chop is different. The way he moves, his speed, how low he runs to the ground. I see Chop having another great year of performance. He had a great year last year, but I think he will take it to another level.
