Chargers Secure Alec Ingold as New Fullback
The Los Angeles Chargers have reached a contract agreement with fullback Alec Ingold, as announced on Sunday night.
The agreement lasts for two years and could reach up to $7.5 million, according to sources close to the team.
Ingold was previously released by the Miami Dolphins on Friday.
The player spent the last four seasons in Miami under the direction of Mike McDaniel, who is now the offensive coordinator for the Chargers. Ingold was selected for his only Pro Bowl in 2023, thanks to his skills in both blocking and receiving, which allowed him to stand out with McDaniel.
Before his time in Miami, Ingold, 29, played his first four seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The incorporation of Ingold could mean that fullback Scott Matlock has little chance of making the Chargers’ roster.
The Chargers have been active before the start of the free agency negotiation period on Monday, also securing center Tyler Biadasz and outside linebacker Khalil Mack last week.
