Travis Hunter Ready for Jaguars Debut
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter is in perfect physical condition and ready to participate in the season opener against Carolina on September 7th, according to General Manager James Gladstone, who confirmed this Wednesday. Hunter had been dealing with an upper body injury since August 14, which prevented him from playing in the last two preseason games. In addition, he had only participated in individual practice sessions. However, his presence at Wednesday’s training clears up any doubts.Gladstone also assured that the team’s expectations of Hunter’s performance on both sides of the field against the Panthers have not changed, despite not having participated in all practices and missing the last preseason game along with the rest of the starters.“He’s in the field today and at full speed,” declared Gladstone.

During the 15 practices in which Hunter fully participated, he played 364 plays in 7-on-7 and 11-on-11. The division was almost even: 188 on offense and 176 on defense. In the 11-on-11 training sessions, Hunter was on the field for 173 plays on offense and 168 on defense.“There hasn’t been any change in that regard. We expect him to be who we know he is, someone who impacts both sides of the football. I can’t wait to see him on Sundays. And a Monday night,” added Gladstone.
