Following the 31-28 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs, the atmosphere in the Cowboys’ locker room was pure celebration. Dak Prescott, upon heading to the locker room, was seen enjoying a turkey leg, a delicacy shared by several of his offensive teammates and the owner and general manager himself, Jerry Jones. The music resonated, the players danced, and the joy was palpable. The Cowboys have achieved three consecutive victories for the first time since 2023, surpassing 50% wins for the first time this season (6-5-1) and positioning themselves favorably in the fight for the playoffs.

We will play against anyone, anywhere. You can see it by what we have done in the last few weeks. The moment is not too big for us.

In a span of five days, the Cowboys defeated the two teams that competed in Super Bowl LIX. They tied the franchise record for the biggest comeback (21 points) against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday and, on Thursday, achieved another comeback against the Chiefs in the final quarter. Both Jones and Prescott agreed that they do not remember such an impressive two-game streak since Prescott became the starter in 2016. Under the circumstances, I don’t remember two better consecutive games here at home. And these guys played inspired.

I’m not sure I’ve lived it, honestly. Besides the situation we were in before these games and the fact that we had to get these wins against two elite teams. I mean, the two teams that played in the Super Bowl last year. Last year was last year, but we’re talking about two organizations that obviously know how to win, and we beat them both in two big games.

After a 27-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on November 3, the Cowboys found themselves with a 3-5-1 record. A day later, they acquired defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and linebacker Logan Wilson via trades. Despite adversity, the Cowboys have shown resilience. Marshawn Kneeland’s jersey is still hanging in the locker room, and they carry a flag with the number 94 on the field. In the last three matches, the locker room has been euphoric. For me, this is a tough business. And if you don’t celebrate these incredible moments and these great victories, why are we working so hard? Why do we sacrifice what we sacrifice of time with our family and things like that if you’re not going to enjoy it and have fun? Prescott threw the decisive touchdown pass and the 2-point conversion with 11:15 left, achieving his 26th comeback in the fourth quarter. CeeDee Lamb, after overcoming three drops against the Eagles, caught seven passes for 112 yards and a touchdown against the Chiefs. George Pickens’ 13-yard reception with two minutes left sealed the victory. Patrick Mahomes threw four touchdown passes against the Cowboys’ defense, but Dallas limited Kansas City to just five conversions on 13 third-down attempts. The defense also managed three sacks and four consecutive stops in the second and third quarters.

I feel good about our situation compared to where we were.

Prescott is aware that the work is not finished. Next week, the Cowboys will face the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. The Lions, with a 7-5 record, lost to the Packers on Thursday, but had the best regular season record in the NFC last year (15-2). When the schedule was announced in the spring, this 12-day period promised to be crucial for the Cowboys’ season.

I can tell you right now that we are not going to relax because of the winning streak. We know we have a big game next week. And all this really gives us more confidence knowing that we can play with anyone.
