Amani Hooker Secures His Future with the Titans: Multi-Million Dollar Extension
The Tennessee Titans have reached an agreement to extend the contract of safety Amani Hooker, according to his agent. The new agreement is for three years and amounts to $48.6 million, with $29 million guaranteed. Hooker, 27, was about to enter the final season of his previous contract extension, a three-year, $33 million deal he signed in 2022. Last season, Hooker had a standout performance on the Titans’ defense, playing in 96.2% (807) of the plays. He led the team with five interceptions, the most in his career, and tied for the team lead with nine passes defended. The Titans selected Hooker in the fourth round of the 2019 draft, following a successful college career at Iowa. In his six seasons in the NFL, Hooker has participated in 80 games, accumulating 315 tackles, 12 interceptions, and 31 passes defended.The Titans currently have five safeties on their 53-player roster. Hooker and veteran Xavier Woods are expected to be the starters, with Quandre Diggs rotating in on some plays. Mike Brown and Kevin Winston Jr. are also part of the team. The Titans will start the season this Sunday in an away game against the Denver Broncos.“This is a reflection of all the people who believed in me along the way,” Hooker declared.
