Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will not play on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to his recovery from an appendectomy, as announced by coach Jonathan Gannon on Wednesday morning.Marvin Harrison Jr. se perderá el partido de los Cardinals contra los Jaguars mientras se recupera de una cirugía de apendicitis. He underwent surgery on the night of November 10, after playing in Seattle the day before.
Gannon also ruled out running back Emari Demercado, who is suffering from a sprained ankle sustained in Sunday’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
With Demercado out for Sunday’s game, Arizona opened the 21-day practice window for running back Trey Benson, who went on injured reserve on October 1 after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his meniscus.
It can be activated at any time during the next three weeks or at the end of the window. If it is not, Benson will remain on the injured reserve for the rest of the season.
Gannon said he wants to see Benson “mentally and physically ready to play” before activating him. As for whether Benson will be ready for this week, Gannon said the Cardinals will “take it day by day”.
