Jaxson Dart Secures Second Quarterback Spot with the Giants

The New York Giants have designated rookie Jaxson Dart as the second quarterback on their first unofficial depth chart for the regular season, behind Russell Wilson. Dart, selected in this year’s draft, surpasses veteran Jameis Winston, who held the number two position during the preseason. Dart has shown steady progress during training camp, displaying a solid performance in the preseason. Coach Brian Daboll refrained from confirming who will be the backup on Sunday, when the Giants kick off the season against the Washington Commanders.

Any decision about the lineup based on who will be the substitute or who will be this player, we will announce it on Sunday.

Dart, 22 years old, was the 25th pick in this year’s draft, coming from Ole Miss. The Giants traded to re-enter the first round and select the young quarterback.

His performance in the summer seems to validate the decision, completing 32 of 47 passes for 372 yards and three touchdowns, with no interceptions, in addition to scoring a rushing touchdown.
