Sauce Gardner Suffers Calf Injury
The Indianapolis Colts cornerback, Sauce Gardner, suffered a left calf injury at the beginning of Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans and was ruled out for the rest of the match. Gardner was injured without physical contact during the second offensive play of the Texans. He remained on the ground for an extended period while the trainers attended to him, then limped off with assistance. After a quick evaluation in the medical tent, Gardner was assisted to the locker room.
This was going to be the second game in which Gardner would play alongside fellow cornerback Charvarius Ward, who was signed during the offseason with a three-year contract averaging $18 million. Ward had been on the injured reserve list after suffering consecutive concussions.
