Kyle Pitts, Falcons Tight End, Dealing with Injury
The Atlanta Falcons’ tight end, Kyle Pitts, is dealing with an injury, according to head coach Raheem Morris this Monday, prior to the team’s second week of voluntary OTA practices.Pitts was not present last week during the media’s practice observation period, but Morris assured that Pitts has been at the facilities and participating in “all meetings.” Despite the former Pro Bowl player not being under contract after this season, his absence from the field is due to injury and not a holdout.
Morris added that there will be no discussion about injuries at this time of year, but that they are being very careful with Pitts, so he will not be seen on the field. He emphasized that Pitts has been present, has done a great job, and has participated in all team activities except on the field, showing an exceptional attitude. We are being extremely cautious with Kyle at the moment and with what is happening.

Pitts, 24, had 47 receptions for 602 yards and four touchdowns last season as the team’s primary tight end.
The former world number 4 has not been able to approach the numbers he achieved in his rookie season in 2021, when he had 68 receptions for 1,026 yards and a touchdown. Pitts was the first rookie tight end to reach the Pro Bowl since Jeremy Shockey in 2002. However, since then, he has struggled with leg injuries and inconsistency.
The Falcons exercised the fifth-year option on Pitts’ rookie contract last offseason. He has not been extended and the 2025 season will be crucial in determining what he can get in free agency, whether in Atlanta or elsewhere.
