Ewers QB2 of Dolphins on Wilson vs Browns: Why the change?

1 Min Read

Quinn Ewers prepares for his debut on the Dolphins’ active roster, taking on the role of backup quarterback this Sunday against the Browns.

Zach Wilson, who served as a substitute in the first six games of the season, will not be active for the game and will perform the function of emergency quarterback.

The reasons behind Ewers’ rise are still unknown.

The Dolphins selected Ewers in the seventh round of this year’s draft, coming from Texas. His most outstanding performance occurred in his second preseason game, where he achieved two touchdowns against the Lions.

Wilson, chosen in the second overall position of the 2021 draft by the Jets, signed a one-year contract with the Dolphins this offseason, after having been the Broncos’ backup last season.

Tua Tagovailoa will be the starting quarterback on Sunday, in a game that will be played under adverse weather conditions, with strong winds and rain at the Browns’ stadium.
