Raiders Look to Break Losing Streak Without Their Main Receivers Against Chiefs

The Las Vegas Raiders will look to end their seven-game losing streak against AFC West rivals, but they will do so without their two main receivers.

Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers (knee/toe) and tight end Brock Bowers (knee) are inactive for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.

Meyers and Bowers were limited participants after being out on Wednesday and Thursday. Meyers, who was originally listed as questionable, was on the field before the start, running routes and catching passes.

Bowers practiced on Friday for the first time since October 1st. He has been out the last two weeks to recover from a posterior cruciate ligament injury and a bone bruise in his left knee that he suffered in the Raiders’ season-opening victory against the New England Patriots.

Earlier in the week, the coach alluded to the possibility of Bowers resting additionally due to the upcoming bye week. He was listed as doubtful.

Meyers was injured on a 16-yard reception in the final quarter of last week’s 20-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans.

In six games in 2025, Meyers has accumulated 29 receptions for 329 yards. His numbers have decreased in recent weeks. He averaged 33.7 yards per game in the last three games after averaging 76 in the first three weeks.

The absence of Meyers opens the door for rookies Jack Bech and Dont’e Thornton Jr. to have a more important role in the offense.

Third-year wide receiver Tre Tucker should also be a focal point in the passing game. He is on track to have a record year, with a total of 24 receptions for 356 yards and four touchdowns, tied for seventh in the league.

With Bowers out for the third consecutive week, Michael Mayer will once again be the Raiders’ primary tight end. He had five receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown against Tennessee, his first game after missing two in a row due to a concussion.
