Eric Wilson Secures His Future with the Vikings: New Three-Year Contract
Linebacker Eric Wilson has reached an agreement to stay with the Minnesota Vikings, according to reports. The contract, with a duration of three years, amounts to 22.5 million dollars, with 12.5 million guaranteed.
Wilson, 31, had an outstanding season in 2025 after returning to the Vikings, the team with which he began his professional career. After signing a one-year contract for $2.6 million, he was expected to have an important role on special teams. However, his performance led him to the starting lineup in Week 2.
During the season, Wilson proved to be a key piece in defensive coordinator Brian Flores’ scheme, characterized by a high frequency of blitzing. He set personal bests in starts (16), sacks (6.5), and forced fumbles (four), and had the third-best pressure rate in the NFL (15.3%) after Week 1.
In addition, he continued contributing on special teams, where he participated in 144 plays and recorded five tackles and a forced fumble.
Wilson arrived at the Vikings as an undrafted rookie in 2017. He also played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans, and Green Bay Packers after leaving Minnesota as a free agent. In his nine seasons in the NFL, Wilson has started 55 games and has accumulated 515 tackles, 17.5 sacks, and five interceptions.
