Eagles and Packers to face off on “Monday Night Football”

The first game announced for the NFL’s “Monday Night Football” schedule features an exciting duel between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers, two National Conference rivals who have engaged in a tense battle during the offseason.

The matchup will take place on November 10, when the Packers host the Eagles, the current Super Bowl champions. This encounter puts the debate over the “tush push”, a short-yardage tactic used by Philadelphia, center stage.

Green Bay proposed banning this play at the league’s annual meeting last month, and it is likely to be discussed again at next week’s spring meeting.

The Packers’ proposal, presented in February, specifically sought to ban the “quarterback sneak”, a play that has been nearly unstoppable for the Eagles.

Green Bay’s proposal, unlike most rule proposals, was written specifically for this play. It would prohibit an offensive player from immediately pushing a teammate who is lined up directly behind the center and receiving the ball.

The announcement of this Week 10 game was made on Tuesday on “Good Morning America.” The complete “Monday Night Football” schedule will be revealed on Wednesday.

Joe Buck, the commentator for “Monday Night Football”, mentioned that the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and Detroit Lions are teams that could have multiple games on Monday nights.

The Eagles’ game at Lambeau Field on “Monday Night Football” will be their third solo game of the 2025 season so far. It was announced this week that Philadelphia will start the season by hosting the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, September 4, and will play the Washington Commanders on Saturday, December 20.
