Hollywood Brown Arrives at the Eagles with a One-Year Contract

The Philadelphia Eagles and wide receiver Hollywood Brown have reached an agreement on a one-year contract, the team announced this Tuesday. Although the Eagles did not disclose the financial terms, a league source confirmed that the deal could reach $6.5 million. Brown, known for his speed and ability to stretch the field, is expected to fill the position vacated by Jahan Dotson, who joined the Atlanta Falcons in free agency last week. Brown, 28, has a more solid track record, highlighted by a 1,000-yard season in 2021. In the past season, Brown achieved 49 receptions for 587 yards and five touchdowns with the Chiefs. It is unlikely that he will have the same volume of play in Philadelphia, as he is projected as the third receiver behind DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown. The situation could change if A.J. Brown, who has been the subject of trade rumors during this offseason, were traded before the start of the season. Hollywood Brown played the last two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, primarily as the third receiver for quarterback Patrick Mahomes. In 16 games last season, Brown had 49 receptions for 587 yards and five touchdowns. Brown signed a one-year contract with the Chiefs a year ago, seeking to prove his worth as a receiver in the league. He missed a large part of the 2024 season due to an injury, but returned to help the Chiefs reach Super Bowl LIX. Brown was selected in the first round of the 2019 draft by the Baltimore Ravens. After three seasons with the Ravens, he was traded to the Arizona Cardinals, where he played two years before joining Kansas City. In 2022, with Arizona, he recorded 67 receptions for 709 yards and three touchdowns. In seven seasons, he has 371 receptions for 4,322 yards and 33 touchdowns.
