Eagles Guard Landon Dickerson to Undergo Procedure for Injury

Philadelphia Eagles’ star guard Landon Dickerson will undergo a “minor procedure” in the coming days due to a meniscus injury in his right knee.

Following the intervention, Dickerson will be evaluated weekly, with an eye on his return for the regular season opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, September 4th.

The injury occurred during the team’s open practice on Sunday night, where Dickerson had to be helped off the field and into a cart.

The injury occurred at the end of the more than two-hour practice at Lincoln Financial Field.

Dickerson fell to the ground during a passing play, in which Jalen Hurts connected with Saquon Barkley on the opposite side of the field.

The audience, composed of about 50,000 people, fell silent while Dickerson remained on the ground for several minutes, surrounded by his teammates.

Finally, he was helped off the field, unable to put much weight on his right leg, and then he was transported in a cart.

Brett Toth has replaced Dickerson at the left guard position this summer on the days Dickerson had limited participation.

Dickerson appeared on the injury report on Saturday due to a knee injury and had limited participation. He was not included on the injury report on Sunday.

Dickerson, 26, is a key player on one of the league’s best offensive lines. He helped pave the way for Barkley during his 2024 campaign, in which he ran for 2,504 yards, including the playoffs.

Dickerson is one of five guards who have participated in the Pro Bowl since 2022, along with Joel Bitonio of the Cleveland Browns, Chris Lindstrom of the Atlanta Falcons, Quenton Nelson of the Indianapolis Colts, and Joe Thuney of the Chicago Bears.
