A.J. Brown Responds to Criticism of His Performance
Philadelphia Eagles receiver A.J. Brown firmly responded to speculation about his current performance. When asked if his level has dropped, Brown made a direct comparison. The Eagles’ offense, despite having star players, has shown inconsistent performance. Currently, they are ranked 25th in total yards per game, averaging 300.1. Regarding the passing game, they are in 28th place, with 184.9 yards per game, and in third-down conversion, they occupy the 29th position, with 33.87%. In the running game, they average 115 yards per game, ranking 17th in the NFL, compared to the 179 yards of 2024. Despite these numbers, Philadelphia leads the NFL in red zone efficiency, with a conversion rate of 75%, and also has the fewest turnovers in the league. This, added to a solid defense, has kept the Eagles at the top of the NFC with an 8-2 record. Brown’s individual production has also decreased. In nine games, he has achieved 38 receptions for 457 yards and three touchdowns. If this pace continues, he would finish the season with 812 yards, the lowest figure of his career. When asked if he pays attention to the performance of other receivers, such as CeeDee Lamb, Brown responded with a smile that he doesn’t, as it “bothers” him.“I guess Saquon Barkley isn’t the same player either,” Brown commented.

Brown pointed out that Barkley is also not having an outstanding season statistically, considering his own standards. Barkley is projected to reach 1,125 rushing yards, after having surpassed 2,000 yards last season. During the season, Brown has expressed his frustration on social media and in interviews, emphasizing his desire to contribute to the team’s success. Regarding reports about the supposed frustration between coaches and players towards quarterback Jalen Hurts, Brown preferred not to comment, responding: “Ask me about Dallas. Thanks.” Brown believes the offensive is close to working and that it’s about correcting errors and finishing plays. Faced with the observation that they will face a desperate Cowboys team, with a 4-5-1 record, Brown replied: “We are also desperate. We are trying to make this work.”“There’s a time and a place for that, but right now, I’m just trying to stay focused,” he affirmed.
