Jaxson Dart Closes Preseason with a Scare

The New York Giants quarterback, Jaxson Dart, finished his rookie preseason with another outstanding performance, marked by a scare after a play.

After a 23-yard run on fourth down at the end of the first quarter on Thursday night against the New England Patriots, Dart tried to advance over two defenders. He suffered a fumble and his head hit the ground. The officials stopped the game and forced him to leave the field.

In the following play, Jameis Winston threw a 30-yard touchdown pass while Dart was being evaluated.

Dart was examined in the medical tent before returning minutes later. It was announced that he had passed the concussion protocol, but he did not return to the game when the Giants got the ball back in the second quarter.

Dart’s preseason concluded with 32 of 47 passes completed (68.1%) for 372 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. In addition, he had six carries for 52 yards with one touchdown.
