Jayden Daniels, Out for the Game against Denver, but with Possible Return Next

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels will not play Sunday against Denver due to the elbow dislocation he suffered in Week 9, according to coach Dan Quinn on Friday. Although Daniels will be absent from this meeting, there is a possibility that he will return to action this season, perhaps as early as Week 14 against Minnesota. A positive piece of news for Washington is the return of wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who will play for the second time since Week 3. The Commanders, with a 3-8 record, will face Denver, which has a 9-2 record, this Sunday. Washington has suffered six consecutive losses, partly due to the absence of key players in their offense, especially McLaurin. The injury to Daniels’ non-throwing arm has kept him out of the last two games. Although he participated in practice this week, Quinn always considered his participation in the game “unlikely.” Daniels was listed as a limited participant in practice each day this week.

The week was a “great first step” for Daniels.

Dan Quinn
Not yet authorized for contact. Daniels has started in five games this season, but has suffered injuries on three occasions. He also had to deal with a sprain in his left knee, which cost him two games, and a right hamstring injury, which sidelined him for one. Quinn also confirmed the absence of receiver Noah Brown, who remains on the reserve list due to injury because of a groin injury suffered in Week 2. Starting safety Will Harris could be activated for Sunday after missing the last nine games due to a fractured fibula. McLaurin returned in the Week 7 loss against Kansas City, where he achieved three receptions for 54 yards. However, a dropped catch caused a re-aggravation of his right quadriceps injury. Nevertheless, McLaurin has expressed feeling better this time, after having participated in several weeks of exercises and practices without experiencing problems.

I just feel like I don’t have any tightness in the injury area. I feel like my acceleration is there, like that extra gear I have and I’m really not thinking about it at all. I definitely feel better this time and the recovery process has been really good.
